Over many years I have written poetry, plays and short stories. I've been inspired by topics as diverse as Spanish painters, Korean musicians and the Life of Richard Brinsley Sheridan. Recent successes have included winning the Hungry Hill Poets Meet Politics prize and the Five Words Poetry Competition. I also have a radio playscript in the finals of the Wirral Festival competition (results yet to be announced). Although I grew up in south London and currently live in Canterbury, I have a strong connection with the Swale-Medway area. My father was from Rochester and his family have been traced back, by an Australian member, Joe Sellen, to the sixteenth century as watermen on the Thames and Medway. I hope to do more research myself on this. Recently, I've begun to create art on the computer. I have designed a poetry collection cover and provided the images for a set of career counselling cards (blacktulippress.com).
